Rita Almeida Filipe, Lisbon, Portugal. Graduated as tridimensional designer at Escola Superior de Belas Artes of Lisbon, 1990. Works as freelancer and researcher since 1990 on Product Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design and Urban Design at her own studio in Lisbon.

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Product Design, about “Transposition of Traditional Objects to Contemporary Times”, Lisbon Faculty of Architecture 2007. PhD in Product Design, about “Vista Alegre, to transpose form and prolong use”, Lisbon Faculty of Architecture 2016. Assistant at Project Design Department of Lisbon Faculty of Architecture (since 1996 / 1997), and at the MA on Urban at Portuguese Design Centre (1999 / 2000). Professor in Project Design Department at Lisbon Faculty of Architecture (since 2016). Exclusive Editor of Design Issues in the Portuguese magazine "Arquitectura e Vida" (Feb. 2000 until Nov. 2006). She owns several 1st prizes on national competitions, mainly on Urban Design. Her work has been presented on several design exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, namely Lisbon, Oporto, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Milan, S. Francisco and Saint-Louis du Senegal. Her work is represented in MUDE - Museum of Design of Lisbon, Francisco Capelo collection, and on the Official Residence of the Prime Minister of Portugal collection.
